Prime Minister Pashinyan stated that Armenia does not participate in the work of the CSTO, but does not block decisions

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in an interview with the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, revealed details of Yerevan’s freezing of its participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

As the Armenian prime minister noted, as of September 2023, Armenia does not have a permanent representative in the CSTO, and Yerevan does not take part in the Organization’s negotiations at the highest and highest levels. The head of the Armenian government clarified that the country does not block decisions made in the CSTO, but does not participate in them either.

Pashinyan emphasized that the Organization did not fulfill its obligations to ensure the security of Armenia in the period from 2021 to 2022, and this is what led to the freezing of Yerevan’s participation in the CSTO.
