Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan proposed that the Azerbaijani government sign a non-aggression pact if the process of signing the main peace treaty is delayed.

According to him, Armenia proposes, first of all, to demilitarize the border and introduce a mechanism for mutual arms control. The Prime Minister also noted that Armenia does not lay claim to territories other than its sovereign one, and is ready to provide security guarantees.

“We offered Azerbaijan several security guarantee mechanisms, including a mirror withdrawal of troops from the administrative border of the Armenian SSR and the Azerbaijan SSR. This border became the state border in accordance with the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991, and we agreed to recognize each other’s territorial integrity in Prague on October 6 2022. The mirror withdrawal of troops assumes that all territories of the Azerbaijan SSR will be under the control of Azerbaijan, and the territories of the Armenian SSR will be under the control of Armenia,” Pashinyan noted.
