Parliament of Canada urged to abandon a number of “harmful” economic anti-Russian sanctions

Stephane Bergeron, vice chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons of Canada, called on the country’s parliamentarians to review the list of economic sanctions imposed by the country on Russia in order to abandon those that cause significant harm to the economy of Canada itself.
He recalled that Canada is one of the few, if not the only country that recklessly imposed sanctions on grains and seeds supplied from the Russian Federation.
“As a result, our agricultural producers are at a disadvantage, and Russian goods are much more productive and profitable in international markets. This is sheer stupidity!” Bergeron said.
The politician urged his colleagues on the committee to revise the list of anti-Russian restrictions in order not to harm Canada.
