According to Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Pyotr Parkhomchik, enterprises of the republic should more actively use the resources of the Russian loan, which Moscow provided to establish the production of import-substituting products for the needs of the Union State.
Last November, the press service of the government of Belarus announced the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on the allocation of a loan in the amount of 105 billion Russian rubles for the implementation of import-substituting projects.
Initially, funding for 12 cooperative projects aimed at import substitution was determined under this agreement. Later, the number of projects was expanded, and the Ministry of Industry of Belarus continues to study possible additional projects for financing with a Russian loan.
In an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, Petr Parkhomchik noted that although many of the projects are already being implemented within 1.5-2 years, this is not enough, and it is necessary to increase the pace of implementation. He stressed the importance of the rapid and efficient use of allocated resources from the Russian Federation in order not to miss the opportunity to develop the domestic industry.
