French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu, following talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that Paris was ready to provide Kyiv with Mistral air defense systems to counter cruise missiles and UAVs.
In addition, the French authorities will create a fund in the amount of 200 million euros, which will allow Ukraine to buy weapons and military equipment from French manufacturers.
“We have studied the needs of the Ukrainian army to continue this assistance in 2023,” the French minister wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, France handed over to Ukraine two Crotale air defense systems and LRU MLRS.
