Pamfilova spoke about attempts to disrupt video surveillance during the elections

Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova said that representatives of the “Voice” movement (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent) worked to “explode video surveillance” during the presidential elections. She declined to give specific names.

“Several, let’s say, prominent representatives of such a public movement “Voice” for fair elections are foreign agents for us, those who went abroad organized a network in order to blow up video surveillance,” Ms. Pamfilova said, adding that she would not name names.

According to Ms. Pamfilova, participants in the movement contacted commission members from different parties with an offer to buy an account that would allow them to use video surveillance of the elections. These accounts, according to Ms. Pamfilova, should have been transferred to IT specialists in foreign centers in order to disable video surveillance of polling stations. “Replace pictures and so on. I won’t decipher it, but there’s a whole big system there. But we also prevented this,” said the head of the Central Election Commission. She claims that for this, the commission members were offered a “good price,” export to Spain and assistance with employment.

“Golos” (recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent) is a movement in defense of the rights of voters, it was founded in 2013 by members of the “Voice” association, created in 2000 (it ceased work in 2013 after the Ministry of Justice suspended its activities because it did not recognized the status of a foreign agent assigned to her in the same year). The organization monitored elections for 20 years. Today, March 18, following the results of the last presidential election, the organization released a report saying that the movement’s participants “have never seen a presidential campaign that was so inconsistent with constitutional standards.”
