Pamfilova: CEC may postpone elections in new regions due to voter security threats

Ella Pamfilova, head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, told reporters that the Central Election Commission retains the right to postpone elections in one or another new subject of Russia. She explained that such a decision could be made if the situation worsens there and the CEC realizes that there is a threat to voters.
“So far everything is going well, our colleagues are working,” Pamfilova said at the same time.
Recall that the elections in Russia will be held on a single voting day on September 10. On this day, senior officials will be elected in 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as by-elections of State Duma deputies in single-member districts will be held. Elections have been scheduled in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
