Pamfilova called the level of external influence on the elections unprecedented

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said that the degree of aggressive external influence on the presidential election was unprecedented. According to her, more than 420 thousand cyber attacks were carried out on the resources of remote electronic voting (DEG), and during the entire campaign the electoral system experienced more than 12 million attacks.

“The degree of aggressive influence was unprecedented. We have never experienced anything like this. There is always external influence, in all elections, we are used to it, this is a permanent issue. But the degree of external influence on the elections this time, the desire to disrupt and discredit them, was unprecedented,” Ella Pamfilova said at a briefing at the CEC (quoted by TASS).

She explained that in the last presidential election the number of DDoS attacks was 150 times greater than in previous campaigns. As the head of the Central Election Commission said, the voting portal suffered the main blow. 19.8 thousand potentially dangerous impacts of a high degree were recorded on the website of the Central Election Commission.

To reduce turnout, as Ella Pamfilova added, “the enemies used intimidation methods.” Among them, she also named “endless flights to the border areas.” She also said that election opponents came up with a technique to spoil the ballots of people who had already voted, but “it blew up.”

The head of the Central Election Commission said at a briefing that out of almost 1 million PEC members, only 9 people were suspended from work. Only 709 ballots in 11 polling stations were invalidated, she added.

The Russian presidential elections took place from March 15 to 17. After processing 99.7% of the ballots, the incumbent President Vladimir Putin dials 87.31% of votes, Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 4.30%, Vladislav Davankov from New People – 3.83%, Leonid Slutsky from the Liberal Democratic Party – 3.21%. The turnout in all regions was 74.22% (data as of 18:00 Moscow time), the turnout of voters registered in the DEG was 94%.
