Pamfilova announced preparations for the presidential elections in 2024

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia is already preparing for the presidential elections in 2024, now the necessary foundation is being laid for this, Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission, told reporters.

“Of course we are getting ready. How else? Time will fly by unnoticed, so everything that can be prepared now – technical, digital, methodological, organizational, personnel bases, we are implementing with an eye on the presidential campaign, while perfectly understanding what presidential elections are in the current conditions, ”- leads her words TASS.

One of the key tasks of the CEC now remains to increase voters’ confidence in elections and the electoral system in general by informing them on the basis of facts and reliable information about all electoral processes.

Earlier on January 13, the Kommersant newspaper reported that the Kremlin’s domestic political bloc began preparations for the presidential campaign in 2024. The presidential administration proceeds from the fact that the current president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, will take part in the elections in 2024. According to the interlocutors of the publication, representatives of the administration have already held appropriate consultations with the expert community. At the same time, there are still no clear contours of the ideological component, although it is assumed that it will be based on the theme of unity.

At the end of November 2022, Putin stated that for now didn’t decidewhether he will be re-elected for a new presidential term. At the same time, answering the question about what other goals he would like to achieve for Russia, the president said that “I would like to realize the plans that we have announced, the goals that we have set ourselves for the development of the country.”

After that, the press secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov, noted that in the last year before the presidential elections, the main will “cases that need to be completed 100% efficiently and victoriously.” According to the Kremlin spokesman, elections for 2024 are already scheduled, and they will also be followed by the start of electoral processes.
