Foreign Ministry: Pakistan will recall its ambassador from Iran

Pakistan will recall its ambassador from Iran. This statement was made by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, January 17, at its website.

The department also stated that Pakistan considers Iran’s strike illegal, and therefore reserves the right to respond. The foreign ministry added that “the unprovoked and flagrant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is a violation of international law and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.”

In addition, the Foreign Ministry added that the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, who is currently in Iran, will not be able to return to Islamabad.

“We have also decided to suspend all high-level visits that were ongoing or planned between Pakistan and Iran in the coming days,” an official statement on the Foreign Ministry website said.
