Over 5 thousand attacks on DEG resources were blocked in four hours – Kommersant

In the period from 8:00 to 12:00, 5,024 attacks on remote electronic voting (DEG) resources were blocked. This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission of Russia Ella Pamfilova during a briefing.
Mrs. Pamfilova, whose words are quoted TASS, clarified that 151 attacks were on stat.vybory.gov.ru, 4583 attacks on vybory.gov.ru, 290 attacks on edg.gov.ru. The most frequently recorded types of web attacks, according to the head of the Central Election Commission, are requests not from Russian territory.
After the start of online voting for elections in Moscow, voters began to report difficulties in receiving SMS for verification on the remote electronic voting portal. Deputy Chairman of the Public Headquarters for Observing Elections in the capital Ilya Massukh explainedthat the service began to malfunction due to a large flow of people wanting to take part in the vote. An attempt to attack the servers of a company delivering SMS messages was also recorded. Muscovites noted problems with SMS in the morning, but at about 12:30 messages began to arrive to residents of the capital.
In 2023, elections in most regions will take place over three days and begin today, September 8. The main voting day will be September 10. Elections of senior officials are planned in 21 constituent entities, as well as additional elections of State Duma deputies in four vacant single-mandate constituencies.
