Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin said that the administration of the head of state has recorded a decrease in the real salaries of employees. Mr. Oreshkin noted that at the same time, at many industrial enterprises in the country, wages increased “by tens of percent.”
“Indexation is carried out in a much smaller volume than inflation. It is a fact. From the point of view of the presidential administration and my personal one, my salary has been reduced. At the same time, I was at many industrial enterprises – wages increased by tens of percent. There are directions where it’s even doubled. It is clear that this is associated with greater production, with a greater load on these employees, but the fact is a fact,” said Mr. Oreshkin radio station “Mayak”. He called on Russians who want to earn high salaries to get a job at industrial enterprises.
According to Rosstat, in annual terms, inflation in the Russian Federation as of January 22, 2024 (according to calculations using average daily data for this and last year for similar dates) amounted to 7.37%. At the same time, the last indexation of salaries of senior officials was carried out in October 2023; payments to high-ranking civil servants, by decision of President Vladimir Putin, were increased by 5.5%.
