Orban says there is a serious risk of sending Western troops to Ukraine

Some Western countries are close to sending their troops to Ukraine, declared Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with radio station Kossuth.

“The world has never been so close to a local war escalating into a global one, the leaders of the Western world are sick with war fever, they are making speeches in support of the war, that more victims are needed, that more deadly weapons should be sent to Ukraine,” – Orban noted.

According to him, there is a possibility that the soldiers of countries allied to Ukraine will also take part in the hostilities.

On February 16, the Polish edition of Onet announced the beginning of the formation in Ukraine of the first Polish special unit as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The next day, Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Pawel Jablonsky declined to comment on the publication, stressing that the Polish military was not taking part in the hostilities in Ukraine. He explained that Warsaw supplies military equipment to Kyiv, helps to train the military, and also sends humanitarian aid.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to the Ukrainian army. In particular, Zakharova warned that pumping up Ukraine with weapons would bring NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
