Orban: Europe is teetering on the brink of war with Russia

The countries of Europe are balancing on the brink of war with Russia and are already indirectly participating in the conflict, it may even go as far as sending “peacekeeping” troops, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said at the Munich Security Conference. About it writes “RIA News”.

According to him, indirectly, Europe is already participating in the war, as it supplies Ukraine with more and more lethal weapons and the EU countries are balancing on the brink like “lunatics on the roof.”

“If you supply weapons, if you provide satellite information, if you train soldiers of one of the warring parties, if you finance the work of the entire state apparatus, and impose sanctions against the other side, then no matter what you say, you are participating in the war, so far indirectly,” he said.

Orban added that now Europe is already starting to deliver tanks, fighters are next on the agenda and suggested that soon “we will hear about the so-called peacekeeping troops.” The prime minister believes that the only way out for Hungary is to stay away from the conflict.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. In particular, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov January 30 declaredthat Western deliveries of new weapons to Ukraine lead to a significant escalation of the conflict, but this is not capable and will not potentially change the course of events. The Kremlin spokesman has made similar statements more than once. In particular, in the summer of 2022 Peskov declaredthat the supply of weapons to Kyiv will not change the parameters of the Russian special operation, its goals will be achieved in any case.
