Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that his country is currently forced to pay 3.5 times more than before for pumping oil from Russia through Ukraine. This is happening after the last price increase in Kiev, he noted on the air of the Kossuth radio station.
As a result of changes in transit costs, according to the prime minister, the costs of Hungarian companies receiving oil through the Druzhba pipeline will increase by approximately 125 million euros. And above all, they will fall on the shoulders of ordinary consumers, Orban is outraged. In addition, along the chain, increased spending will affect the final price, and, as a result, inflation will increase.
At the same time, Orban “understands that Ukraine has no money and fewer and fewer weapons.” For this reason, “they need to make money from something.” This year, Ukraine has already increased the oil transportation tariff for European countries three times. Thus, on August 1, the cost of transit immediately increased by 23.5% – to 21 euros per ton.
