Only 4% of South Koreans called Russia an unfriendly country, according to the Telegram channel of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, citing a study by Gallup Korea.
It is noted that at present South Korea is on the list of countries unfriendly to Russia, with all the ensuing consequences. At the same time, if the level of relations between the Russian Federation and South Korea has decreased, then not too much, mainly due to bilateral trade. “Moscow and Seoul practically do not exchange mutual accusations, and in general, South Korea is far from being as active in terms of sanctions against the Russian Federation as Europe, the United States and the same Japanese,” the article says.
According to the survey, only 4% of citizens assess Russia as a threat. For comparison, 45.8% of South Koreans consider North Korea a threat, 36.8% see China as a threat, and 8.3% of South Koreans consider Japan a threat.
On the other hand, this year Russia topped the list of states that South Koreans are wary of (55.6%), while our country is perceived as friendly by only 0.6%. True, this figure for the entire time of observation has never exceeded one percent.
The material notes that the destruction of bilateral relations between the Russian Federation and South Korea was avoided, and there is every reason to believe that over time they will be restored, and business, scientific and cultural contacts will return to their previous level.
