The rights to show the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire were bought by the Okko online cinema, a service representative told Kommersant. Thus, the key games of the tournament will be shown on the Okko Sport TV channel. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The African Cup of Nations is a football competition for national teams, held under the auspices of the Confederation of African Football. The event will take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024. This year the event was postponed due to weather conditions, but retained the reference to 2023 in the name.

Previously, Okko had already bought the rights to show the Davis Cup, the American MMA promotion PFL, the European Figure Skating Championships, and the Biathlon World Cup. In May 2023, the online cinema received exclusive rights to broadcast the largest European basketball tournament – the Euroleague, RBC reported. It was clarified that Okko will begin broadcasting from the Euroleague Final Four of the 2022/23 season and will show matches of the tournament until the 2025/26 season inclusive. In June, the online cinema and the Zenit basketball club signed a cooperation agreement for the 2023/24 season: the video service received the right to exclusive broadcast of the pre-season Kondrashin and Belov Cup, as well as video content about the life of Zenit.
