The plaintiff, the owner of the trademarks of the Ukrainian brand of vodka Nemiroff, wants to prohibit the Penza organization from using the trademark, recognizing the production, supply and trade of branded products from February 1, 2022 as a violation of exclusive rights. The defendant used the trademark under a previously concluded agreement.
The request for a closed review was filed by Vodka Factories. The defendant believes that the subject of the dispute may affect aspects of the proceedings related to trade secrets. Due to “increased media interest” in him, the party asked for a closed meeting, since it believes that otherwise information related to trade secrets could be made public.
Judge Sergei Bolgov granted the defendant’s request and scheduled a closed hearing for January 23, 2024. Vodka factories will have to prepare documents that justify the involvement of Nemiroff vodka rus in the case, and the plaintiff will have to prepare a written position regarding the said petition.
