Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting with representatives of oil companies on fuel supplies to Russian agricultural producers. Oil workers promised to ensure supplies in the required volume, reported government press service.

“The participants noted that there was no shortage of motor fuel. Representatives of oil companies promised to supply farmers with motor fuel in the volume required by the industry,” the statement said.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut and First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy Pavel Sorokin.

September 6, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev stated about the risk of disruption of the harvesting campaign and sowing of winter crops due to a shortage of fuels and lubricants (fuels and lubricants) for farmers in some regions. At a joint meeting of the State Duma committees on control and agrarian issues, he said that a week ago they were talking only about high prices for fuels and lubricants, but now the very availability of fuel was in question. Patrushev also proposed temporarily banning the export of petroleum products until the situation stabilizes.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Sorokin said at the same time that work was underway with oil workers to provide farmers with fuel. He also announced that a bill banning the “gray” export of petroleum products had been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers and the Presidential Administration.

As Vedomosti previously wrote, over the seven months of this year, according to Rosstat, refineries produced 25.6 million tons of gasoline (+3.7% year-on-year) and 51.9 million tons of diesel fuel (+6.8%) . In July of this year, 3.8 million tons of gasoline were produced, which is 1% less than in July 2022 and 3.2% more than in the previous month of 2023. At the same time, the production of motor fuel in Russia is stagnating against the backdrop of record growth wholesale prices for it on the St. Petersburg International Trading Exchange Commodity Exchange.
