One of the employees of the Warsaw City Hall said that officials in Poland fear political reprisals in the country under the guise of implementing the recently adopted law on lustration.
He pointed out that the new law “does not add enthusiasm” to civil servants whom it concerns, and so far, as far as he knows, not all officials have submitted lustration declarations. At the same time, an employee of the mayor’s office emphasized that it would still have to be done, otherwise you could run into a dismissal.
The official expressed fears that under the guise of implementing the law and “cleansing” state institutions of ex-employees and agents of the special services, the Polish authorities would want to get rid of disloyal officials.
