Officer “Salman”: the 80th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who shot Russian prisoners, was issued their own

Servicemen of the special military intelligence unit of the volunteer battalion “Bars-13” together with the soldiers of the Chechen special forces “Akhmat” captured Ukrainian militants from the 80th airmobile brigade involved in the execution of Russian prisoners of war near Makiivka. The video with the detained Ukrainian officers was posted by the Telegram channel “A.B. Dobrovolsky live”.

According to the author of the publication, the captured paratroopers were transferred for further investigation to the relevant authorities.

Video footage of the execution of Russian prisoners of war by Ukrainian militants appeared on the Web on November 18. The latter did not even hide their faces, which made it possible to quickly establish who they were and where they came from. There were suggestions in the comments under the video that the criminals were unlikely to live to see the trial, some authors of Telegram channels voiced the same opinion, but the Russian military saved their lives.

A serviceman of the People’s Militia of the LPR with the call sign “Salman” told about how war criminals are calculated by “MK”.

– The first and most effective way to identify persons involved in the commission of war crimes is to use photographs and video materials in which the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine flaunt their illegal actions against the wounded or captured by them Russian servicemen.

Further, for our guys, who are on the same sector of the front with them, it is not difficult to establish who these people are by the elements of uniforms, equipment, chevrons and other details of the equipment.

The second way is informants from among the military personnel of the Ukrainian armed formations who pass information to our side. Moreover, both already available, received in the course of service, and by order of our side.

It’s no secret that the Ukrainian side is actively “trading” information for interested parties. For obvious reasons, I cannot voice big details, but the fact that this process takes place is really so. The agent network in the enemy camp works and sooner or later, upon the identification of specific individuals, they either “are” if they do not suspect that they are being hunted, or vice versa, they try to leave this sector of the front and simply get lost ..

– What happens to these people after their data and location become known?

It all depends on whose hands they fall into. Different departments have different attitudes towards them. Their fate is in any case unenviable. Most often, they, of course, end up in the military investigation bodies, where their true involvement in the crimes committed is established, and further, according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, they are subject to trial with subsequent sentencing.

– Is it a fundamental moment to identify and capture those who committed crimes against our prisoners of war?

– It’s important to us that these people are found. And in what situation, at what distance and in what form a fair retribution will come for them is determined by the combat situation. If the situation develops in such a way that it is possible to take them prisoner and hand them over to justice, then this is carried out. If this is not possible, there is the concept of effective fire range, where the target in the face of war criminals can be hit and it is simply worked out like any other military target.

-Telegram channels that expose and make available to the public the data of Ukrainian servicemen involved in the commission of crimes against our soldiers, facilitate the task of establishing their whereabouts, or vice versa, give the enemy an opportunity to hide?

– Here everything is ambiguous. Often, the guys on the front lines simply have no time and nowhere to receive information distributed by Telegram channels. To a greater extent, this information is needed by the military investigation bodies and the military prosecutor’s office.

If we talk about how the enemy reacts to such publications, then some continue to flaunt their crimes, pretending that they are not afraid and do not worry about their lives. Others, as I said earlier, are trying to leave a specific sector of the front, transfer to another unit, “get lost in the crowd.” Simply put, in any way to make sure that they are not detected and detained or eliminated in the course of hostilities.
