NYT: Zelensky threatened not to attend Ukraine-NATO council meeting

american newspaper New York Timesciting its own sources, said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threatened not to come to the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council.
According to the publication, Zelensky made such a statement on Tuesday evening, after there was no specific deadline for inviting Ukraine.
“At the same time, the next day, Zelensky significantly softened his public statements,” the newspaper notes.
He clarified that the lack of a time frame for Kyiv’s membership in the North Atlantic Alliance is absurd and it seems not the lack of readiness to invite the country to the alliance.
Recall that the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council was held yesterday in Vilnius.
