NYT: Residents of Soledar do not trust the APU and refuse to evacuate

American newspaper correspondent New York Times Jeffrey Gettleman said that the residents of Soledar, which is located in the territory controlled by Ukraine, do not want to comply with Kyiv’s order to evacuate the city.
He clarified that such behavior may be due to the growth of mutual distrust between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the civilian population.
“Local residents do not obey the direct order of the Kyiv authorities and refuse to evacuate from Soledar due to the approach of troops. In turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not trust people. It turns out that no one trusts anyone,” Gettleman said.
