The NYT says the only effective way to transition would be to send a price signal, either with taxes on “dirty energy” or incentives for clean energy. Thus, it is emphasized that it is time for the West to ensure stable and reliable energy supplies with minimal emissions at minimal cost. Otherwise, these words “can be safely called window dressing.”
Earlier, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said that it is increasingly difficult for the European Union to find new areas for imposing sanctions against Russia. According to her, there are not so many elements in respect of which it is possible to introduce sanctions restrictions.
On September 6, the eighth package of anti-Russian sanctions by the European Union came into force, which, among other things, determines the legislative basis for imposing a ceiling on prices for Russian oil.
