The position of the Russian Federation regarding the introduction of an oil price ceiling remains unchanged. This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Russia Alexander Novak. According to him, such an EU decision is a “crude tool.”
“Russia will sell oil and oil products only to countries that will work on market conditions, even if they have to cut production,” Novak said.
In addition, he stressed that the Russian side does not intend to apply the ceiling on oil prices, which was adopted by the European Union, even if it is necessary to cut production. Novak also noted that Moscow is currently working on a mechanism to ban the use of the adopted price ceiling.
