Norwegian Foreign Minister Eide did not rule out sending troops to Ukraine in the future

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Bart Eide said that in the long term he does not rule out sending troops to Ukraine.

“In a very long term,” the Ukrainian publication “European Truth” quotes the minister as saying. “I don’t think we should rule anything out in principle.” At the same time, as Eide emphasized, there is “no desire to be a direct party” to the conflict. Because, as the Norwegian minister argues, this “could lead to a world war.” And “we don’t want to see this,” Eide added.

The head of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry indirectly confirmed the ongoing discussions among NATO member countries about sending troops to Ukraine, saying that it meant sending instructors and advisers, but “not combat units.”
