Deputy Foreign Minister of the DPRK Im Chong Il issued a statement in which he called NATO and the alliance, the United States, Japan and South Korea a “cancer.”
“The illegal hostility and attempts of US interference in the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and the Russian Federation go beyond <...> The US’s malicious antipathy towards Korean-Russian relations only reveals that it lacks strength and intelligence in confrontation with anti-imperialist and independent countries,” it says in a statement by the deputy minister on the KCNA website.
According to the official, the United States is “deceiving the world community” by finding fault with the friendly and good neighborly relations between Moscow and Pyongyang as a “violation of UN resolutions”, presenting cooperation between the two countries as a “threat to global peace and security.” The DPRK is convinced that it is the United States, Japan, South Korea, and NATO that are “throwing the international order into danger.”
