North Korea fired a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan, “warning of a tougher military response” if the US continues to increase its presence in the region, about this informed Reuters. The North Korean authorities noted that Washington is going on an “adventure that he will regret” later.
The South Korean military specified that the missile was launched at 05:48 Moscow time, it flew 240 km, reaching a maximum height of 47 km.
It is specified that this launch was made after the head of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, Choi Song-hee, criticized the tripartite summit of the United States, South Korea and Japan, which was held on November 13 in Cambodia. During this meeting, the leaders of the three states criticized the DPRK’s weapons tests and promised to expand cooperation in the field of security.
In early November, North Korea had already made several launches towards the Sea of Japan. In particular, on November 2, the South Korean military notedthat one of the missiles fell 26 kilometers south of the northern boundary line, which Seoul considers the de facto maritime boundary. This is the first time this has happened since the end of the Korean War, the committee said. In total, at least 17 different rockets were launched that day.
Then the South Korean military called the actions of the DPRK “unacceptable” and promised to respond to the provocation. Japan protested, the country’s defense ministry said. “Such actions by the DPRK are completely unacceptable. In this regard, we protested through the embassy in Beijing,” said Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada.
