Non/fiction 2022: features of a new reality
[ad_1]
From December 1 to 5, the 24th Non/fiction, one of the oldest and largest book fairs in the country, will be held in Moscow’s Gostiny Dvor. Its importance cannot be overestimated, especially today, when the book industry is going through hard times. Many top foreign authors left the market. Prices rose noticeably (according to market participants, up to 10-15% compared to last year), primarily due to the shortage of paper, which is purchased mainly in Europe. Printing houses cannot purchase imported components and inks.
The unstable situation on the market also manifests itself in the form of a specific genre of “presentation of a book that has not yet been released”. So, the new novel “To Paradise itself” by the popular American writer Hanya Yanagihara (known for the bestseller “Little Life”) should be released in Russian only in February next year, but her translators and editor will talk about the book on Non/fiction this December.
