“No longer a secret”: Wasserman spoke about the signal sent by Putin to the West

“They will move slowly,” says the erudite

Vladimir Putin’s interview with Tucker Carlson is being discussed all over the world for the second day. The famous polymath Anatoly Wasserman also watched the President’s conversation with an American journalist. In a conversation with MK correspondents, he spoke about the main signal that Vladimir Vladimirovich sent to the collective West.

“This is no longer a secret,” says Anatoly Alexandrovich. “The signal boils down to the fact that our opponents do not have forceful solutions to the problems they face. Moreover, any forceful attempts to resist Russia in Ukraine complicate their position. And we are ready to negotiate, but on mutually acceptable terms. This is the signal Putin sent to the West.

“I don’t know if they will listen to his words,” Wasserman continues. – As I already said, according to various estimates, NATO’s safety margin will be enough for a period of one to five years. Moreover, NATO has enough other tasks. Therefore, it is unknown what share of this reserve they will spend on Ukraine.

“But I know that some in the West took Putin’s words seriously,” says Anatoly Alexandrovich. – Some people, as always, of course, were ignored. Let’s say the Biden team’s reaction boils down to: don’t believe it, because he is Putin.

However, Wasserman believes that there is still a chance that the President of Russia will be heard in the West and begin to move towards peace negotiations.

“There is a chance, but they will move slowly,” says the erudite. — Because the next major elections of our opponents are scheduled in the United States for November 5. And their accomplices have it even further.
