Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin does not know when and how the funeral of the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, who died on board the Embraer Legacy 600 business jet that crashed in the Tver region, will take place. In this regard, he noted Mr. Peskov, there is still no answer to the question of whether Vladimir Putin will attend the funeral.

“I don’t have any information about the funeral yet, so I can’t say anything. Surely as soon as a decision is made, it will be made public. Such decisions are always made together with relatives and are primarily based on the decision of relatives,” the Kremlin spokesman said during a press call.

To a clarifying question whether Vladimir Putin could attend the funeral of Yevgeny Prigozhin, Dmitry Peskov replied: “We don’t know yet when, how (the funeral will take place.— ”b”) Therefore, there can be no answer to this question now.

The Kremlin spokesman was also asked why Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to the families of those who died on board the business jet, including those close to Yevgeny Prigozhin, even before the official announcement of the TFR on the results of the forensic medical examination. Embraer Legacy 600 business jet crashed on 23 August. There were 10 people on board, including Yevgeny Prigozhin and Wagner PMC commander Dmitry Utkin. All seven passengers and three crew members died. TFR confirmed the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin on August 27. The cause of the plane crash is unknown. As part of the criminal affairs under the article on violation of the rules for the operation of an aircraft (Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the version of “external influence” is considered, among other things.

Vladimir Putin commented plane crash on August 24th. Expressing condolences, he noted that he had known Yevgeny Prigozhin for a long time. The head of state called him a talented man of difficult fate. Also, Mr. Putin urged to wait for the results of the investigative actions of the TFR.
