The initiative called for a revision of the retirement age
To reduce the retirement age for citizens working at night, proposed by the experts of the Russian Public Initiative. According to activists, working in night shifts is bad for the health of workers, which means they should be allowed to leave for a well-deserved rest earlier.
As MK managed to find out, the authors of the initiative demanded to revise the retirement age for the category of citizens whose employment is related to work at night. Such a schedule is exhausting and worsens health, especially when it comes to women and people over 50, as well as those who have recovered from the coronavirus.
Experts considered it unfair that Russians working in normal (for example, office) conditions retire at the same age as their compatriots working in conditions that differ from normal. To these categories, social activists attributed not only the night work schedule, but also professions that involve a long stay outside the premises, with overcoming long distances in difficult places.
Activists are sure that any work, in conditions that deviate from the norm, should be accompanied by benefits. In addition, the prospect of early retirement may encourage potential workers to choose a profession with night shifts. Therefore, the authors propose to amend the Law “On State Pension Provision in the Russian Federation” in terms of reducing the retirement age for citizens who work at night.
