The Nigerian Air Force announced the elimination of more than a hundred jihadists in the strike. The air strike was carried out on December 20, 2022 in the Bama district of Borno state, where, according to the military, a large number of terrorists had gathered on machine-gun-equipped vehicles, as well as on motorcycles and bicycles, Directorate 4 Telegram channel writes.
According to security officials, the terrorists intended to participate in the offensive, timed to coincide with the celebration of Christmas and the upcoming general elections in Nigeria. After the Air Force launched the first strike on militant targets, the surviving jihadists tried to evacuate the wounded and the bodies of their dead comrades. Noticing the movement of terrorists, the Nigerian Air Force prepared and carried out a second wave of bombing. Among the dead are three Islamist field commanders.
