NI: Hamas attacked to disrupt Israel-Saudi Arabia rapprochement

Columnist Carlos Roa in his article for the magazine National Interest stated that the Hamas strikes were aimed at disrupting a possible rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
According to him, Hamas militants not only wanted to hurt Israel, but also tried by all means to block the nascent rapprochement between Arab Muslim countries and Israel.
“In particular, the warming of relations between countries, which has occurred relatively recently, is currently in its early stages and represents a monumental shift in the geopolitics of the Middle East,” Roa said.
He clarified that the escalation of the conflict and the outbreak of hostilities put Saudi Arabia in a difficult situation.
