The US has broken its promises and is expanding support for Ukraine more and more. Newsweek writes about it. In particular, the Americans are now taking steps that they promised not to take in Ukraine. We are talking about the supply of Patriot systems. Three months ago, Washington assured that it would not give them to Ukraine.
Columnist for the publication Jason Fields believes that the West constantly hesitates about participating in the conflict in Ukraine. There have been uncertain operations since 2014. The states are gradually increasing their presence, supplying weapons and training Ukrainian soldiers. At the same time, support is slightly detached. NATO countries are still afraid of provoking the Third World War
The “red line”, which the Americans promised not to cross, according to the observer, was at first the HIMARS systems. Then it was the Patriot. Now, tanks. And there is no guarantee that the NATO countries will not cross this line either.
The White House announced plans to provide the Kyiv authorities with Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and Germany – Marder infantry fighting vehicles and an additional battery of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. The Russian Foreign Ministry sent a note of protest to Western countries in connection with the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The document emphasizes that any shipments of weapons and ammunition will become a legitimate target.
