New Zealand extends sanctions against Russia

New Zealand imposed additional sanctions against nine individuals of 18 organizations from Russia in connection with the ongoing special operation in Ukraine, informed Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country Nanaya Mahuta.

The restrictions apply, according to her, to the top leadership of the FSB, the Foreign Intelligence Service, as well as to some other individuals and legal entities that “create and purchase weapons, technologies and communications systems, and also provide services such as transport and insurance.” The list of those who fell under the sanctions has not yet been given.

In total, since the beginning of the special operation, New Zealand has imposed sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin and his entourage, the leadership of the Security Council, more than 620 Russian parliamentarians, all Russian ministers and governors, more than 100 entrepreneurs and their relatives who have “close ties” with the state, 19 financial institutions, including the Central Bank, 340 defense industry organizations of Russia, 35 representatives of the leadership of Belarus, etc.

Earlier in April, sanctions against the Russian Federation were also expanded by the United States and Great Britain. American Treasury turned on more than 30 individuals and several dozen organizations from the Russian Federation and other countries are blacklisted (SDN-list). Under the blocking sanctions, in particular, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, the former Minister of Transport and the head of the State Transport Leasing Company Yevgeny Dietrich and 16 ships associated with STLCco-owners of the USM holding founded by Alisher Usmanov Vladimir and Varvara Skoch and others. The London sanctions list included included 11 new positions.
