Stocks of shells for Ukrainian air defense will last until March – New York Times
Without supplies of shells, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will hold out until March, writes The New York Times, citing American officials.
“Ukrainian troops are exhausted and lack weapons and ammunition,” the article says.
It is also noted that air defense systems are steadily depleted.
It is indicated that the shortage of missiles for air defense systems for Ukraine will be an even greater problem than the shortage of shells.
The New York Times also writes that without help from the United States, the Ukrainian army will face the collapse of positions along the entire line of combat contact within a few months. It is argued that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not have the strength and capabilities to carry out offensive actions similar to those that took place previously.
“It will be at least another couple of months before the lack of renewed aid has a widespread impact. But without this, officials add, it is difficult to imagine how Ukraine will be able to maintain its current position on the battlefield,” the publication says.
The new bill on further aid to Kyiv is still not approved. In turn, US President Joe Biden even admitted that ultimately the new aid package may not be accepted.
