New regions appoint senators of the Federation Council

The authorities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions have appointed senators of the Federation Council from the regions. The DPR and LPR can appoint two senators each, the regions can only appoint one, since they do not have active legislative bodies.

Appointed Senators:

• Deputy Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party appointed as LPR Senator from the executive branch Daria Lantratovafollows from decree Acting Head of the Republic Leonid Pasechnik. Deputy of the People’s Council of the LPR became a senator from the legislature Olga Bas. This was announced by the deputy of the People’s Council of the LPR Alexander Krierenko in his Telegram channel.
• Former foreign minister of the republic appointed as DPR senator from executive branch Natalya Nikonorovafollows from the decree of the acting head Denis Pushilin (.pdf) Member of the regional parliament appointed from the legislature Alexander Ananchenko.
