Neural networks will soon be used in drones in electronic warfare (EW) systems, said the head of the EW troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Yuri Lastochkin. Using these technologies, UAVs will recognize objects and self-organize into groups.
“In electronic warfare systems on UAVs, in the near future, neural networks will be used for automatic recognition of objects directly on board, transition from flight along a predetermined route to autonomous execution of tasks, as well as in order to ensure the actions of UAVs in the form of a self-organizing group,” said Mr. Lastochkin “Red Star” (issue published in Telegram channel publications).
The head of the electronic warfare troops said that now no new development work on the creation of electronic warfare equipment and complexes begins without analyzing the possibility of using artificial intelligence technologies. He is confident that in the near future AI will take the processes of managing electronic warfare forces and means to a new level and increase the efficiency of their use.
