Netanyahu: Israel sees weapons handed over to Ukraine at its borders

Israel is already recording cases when Western weapons transferred to Ukraine are near its borders, declared Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with The Jerusalem Post.
Commenting on the country’s non-participation in providing its weapons to Kiev, the prime minister said that Israel is “in a special position” compared to Poland or Germany, supporting the supply, because it has a “close military border” with Russia, and Israeli pilots fly near Russian ones in Syria.
Netanyahu also noted that the transferred weapons could eventually end up in Iranian hands and be used against Israel itself.
“And by the way, this is not a theoretical possibility. So, in fact, it happened with Western anti-tank weapons, which we now find at our borders, ”he said.
Earlier, the media reported that Netanyahu supported the policy of the previous government of the country, aimed at not supplying Ukraine with weapons, but only providing humanitarian assistance. During a recent speech in parliament, he explained that one of the reasons for this decision is that Israeli weapons could end up in the hands of Iran.
At the end of May, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that military support for Kyiv from the West cannot affect the outcome of the special operation, it only delays the hostilities. The Minister focused on increasing the supply of equipment and weapons to Ukraine. According to him, Russia monitors the volumes and routes of supplies and, if detected, strikes.
