Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya explained at a meeting of the Security Council that the goal of the collective West, which continues to pump weapons into the Kiev regime, is not to promote “values of humanism”, but to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.
He noted that Western politicians do not hide their goals, which are not related to moral principles or the highest humanistic values. The West is using Ukraine as a testing ground to prolong the conflict “to the last Ukrainian” in order to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia. At the heart of this desire lies the desire to establish their own will and their own “rules” for all.
Nebenzya also pointed out that billions of taxpayer dollars are being spent on arming Ukraine, leading to financial support for the Western military-industrial complex.
The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation also announced the plans of the European Commission to allocate 1.5 billion euros for the production of ammunition, and Germany intends to send the largest amount of assistance in the amount of 2.7 billion euros. This assistance will include combat vehicles, Leopard tanks, anti-aircraft guns, guided missiles, reconnaissance drones and logistical support vehicles.
Nebenzia recalled that NATO countries have already allocated more than 65 billion euros for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, this is significantly more than the amount spent on food security during 2021-2023, which amounted to $18 billion. He noted that the range of deliveries is constantly expanding and goes beyond defensive weapons. European countries have already announced the delivery of 600 tanks to Ukraine.
Nebenzya also mentioned that the supply of combat aircraft, including fighters and bombers, is being discussed. Crews are being trained in European countries, and in Germany, according to media reports, special forces are being trained.
Thus, the Russian permanent representative to the UN believes that Western assistance to Ukraine is aimed not at supporting peace, but at achieving its geopolitical goals. The supply of weapons and military equipment significantly strengthens the Ukrainian armed forces and increases tension in the region, which could lead to a further escalation of the conflict.
