Nebenzya called Russia’s accusations of using Iranian drones far-fetched

Accusations of Russia in the use of Iranian drones are far-fetched, the UN Secretariat should not succumb to pressure from the West and agree to an investigation into alleged cases of Russian use of Iranian drones. Such a statement was made at a meeting of the UN Security Council by the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the organization Vasily Nebenzya.

During the meeting, UN Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Rosemary Di Carlo said that Ukraine, France, Germany, Great Britain and the United States sent letters to the UN Secretariat on Iranian drones and asked to conduct an inspection in Ukraine.

“The UN Secretariat should not give in to pressure from Western countries and go in violation of the UN Charter,” said Nebenzya (quote according to TASS). According to him, any results of such investigations will not have legal force.

Nebenzya added that the accusations against Russia are “absolutely far-fetched, artificial.” The Permanent Representative to the UN pointed to the lack of documented evidence from the Ukrainian authorities. He noted that Kyiv did not provide Tehran with documents on the use of Iranian UAVs by the Russian military.

The Russian and Iranian authorities have repeatedly denied the supply of Iranian-made drones to Russia for use during the special operation. In August, The Washington Post (WP) wrote about the supply of Iranian drones to the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the message, called it “information stuffing.”

On October 17, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry accused Iran of supplying weapons to Russia, including drones that are allegedly used during a special operation in Ukraine. in response to Peskov declaredthat in the course of the NWO, Russia uses only Russian equipment, which has a Russian name. Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN Amir Saeed Iravani rejected transfer of Iranian drones to Russia.

On October 20, the EU imposed sanctions for possible deliveries of Iranian drones against weapons manufacturer Shahed Aviation Industries and three generals from the republic. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the accusations “far-fetched.”
