Media publications about Russia’s purchase of weapons from the DPRK are another fake, said Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN.
“I think this is another circulating fake,” said Nebenzya (quote according to TASS).
Earlier edition of The New York Times, citing an American intelligence report declaredthat Russia is buying “millions of artillery shells and missiles” from the DPRK. According to the US government, this indicates that sanctions have “severely limited” the supply chain of ammunition for the Russian army.
One unnamed source noted that Russia is buying short-range missiles and artillery shells, and is also expected to purchase “additional equipment” from the DPRK. What equipment is in question is not specified.
At the end of August, the Kremlin called a WP article about the supply of Iranian drones to Russia a hoax. “The Washington Post, unfortunately, has been publishing a lot of information stuffing lately,” Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, said at the time.
According to WP, on August 19, transport planes allegedly took off from Iran carrying at least two types of unmanned aerial vehicles capable of carrying ammunition to attack radars, artillery and other military targets. In particular, the UAVs of the Mohajer-6 and Shahed series are said to be the first among the transferred drones. In the future, it is planned to transfer hundreds of Iranian UAVs of various types, White House officials told the newspaper.
