Earlier, the United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution that regulates an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the period of Ramadan.
At the same time, as RIA Novosti notes, US Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield explained during her speech that the resolution is not binding.
Having assessed the speech of the permanent representative, Vasily Nebenzya clarified that all UN Security Council resolutions are binding and expressed regret that Linda Thomas-Greenfield did not read the organization’s charter.
