Nearly 1,000 people arrested during protests in France

During the riots in France on the night of July 1, about 1,000 people were detained, dozens of policemen were injured, transmits TV channel BFM with reference to the French IMF.

According to AFP, 406 people were detained in Paris and the suburbs last night. Protests in France continue for the fourth day. They began after one of the police officers shot a 17-year-old young man with Algerian roots named Nael M. in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre, as a result of which he died. The policeman has now been arrested. According to law enforcement agencies, the young man did not obey the demand of the traffic patrol to stop.

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Born, at the suggestion of Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, had previously announced the deployment of armored vehicles. BFM wrote on Friday that four Centaure combat vehicles and 14 VBRG wheeled armored vehicles would be deployed. Darmanen also called for the suspension of public transport in the evening.
