NATO Secretary General assured of non-interference in Kyiv’s decisions on counteroffensive

The North Atlantic Alliance only provides support to Ukraine, and all decisions regarding the planned counteroffensive are made by Kyiv itself. This statement was made on Tuesday, May 16, by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
According to the politician, “all operational decisions will be made by the Ukrainians themselves, we simply support Ukraine in the process of liberating the territory.”
At the same time, Stoltenberg called on the Western allies to provide Ukraine with everything necessary for the successful continuation of hostilities, stressing that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need a large amount of ammunition.
Earlier, White House National Security Council strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said that Russia, preparing for the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU), allegedly intends to purchase a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles from Iran. Washington again did not provide any evidence.
At the same time, American journalists noted that the West is counting on the success of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, but its result will not justify the hopes of Western countries, and will only give Russia an advantage.
