In an article published on the 19Fortyfive portal, retired NATO officer Stavros Atlamazoglou spoke about the situation in eastern Ukraine, where the Russian army continues to conduct successful military operations, despite Kyiv’s plans to actively attack.
The Ukrainian military, although conducting a large-scale counteroffensive, is facing stiff Russian resistance, especially in the Svatovo-Kremennaya area, where the Russian Armed Forces are moving west, using the forests to their advantage, Atlamazoglou said.
In his opinion, about two months have passed since the beginning of the operation, conceived by the command of Kyiv, but the Ukrainian military still has not been able to achieve significant success.
In addition to artillery and helicopters, the Russian army is using massive drone attacks that cause significant real-time damage to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroying enemy troop concentrations, Washington Post columnist Michael Birnbaum previously reported.
