The American F-16 fighters, which the Western allies promise to transfer to Kyiv, will not be able to fly if the supply of spare parts for them is not arranged in a timely manner. The head of the NATO Military Committee, Rob Bauer, warned about this on Friday, March 22.
The military man reminded that spare parts need to be replaced after a certain number of flight hours, and not when they are already out of order. This means that “if you fly a lot, as you do in war, you need these parts.”
Bauer emphasized that “the problem is not only money,” but also confidence that the necessary spare parts will be produced in the right quantity and on time.
Earlier, the former deputy head of the US Cyber Command, retired Lieutenant General Charlie Moore, said that if Western countries decide to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighters, then foreign service personnel of the winged machines will will become a legal target for the Russian Armed Forces.
The coordinator of the Nikolaev underground, Sergei Lebedev, said that one of the Russian attacks on Ukrainian military and energy facilities hit the Starokonstantinov military airfield in the Khmelnitsky region, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing to receive American F-16 fighters.
