Nationalized property worth 1 billion rubles will be sold in Crimea

The authorities of Crimea will put up for auction the property nationalized in the republic of “citizens and states committing unfriendly actions towards Russia”, as a result, more than 1 billion rubles will go to the budget of the subject, reported Chairman of the State Council of the Republic Vladimir Konstantinov in his Telegram channel.

Konstantinov recalled that since the beginning of the year, eight lots worth about 820 million rubles have been put up on the peninsula, the funds went to the republic’s budget. “Currently, at open auctions, notices have been posted about the sale of residential premises, including the apartment of the Zelensky couple (this object is the most in demand at auction among those placed), retail objects and sanatorium-resort objects,” Konstantinov wrote.

He clarified that by the end of the year the republican authorities will hold an auction for 19 lots; as a result of the sale of nationalized property, the budget of Crimea will receive more than 1 billion rubles. The initial cost of the lots is determined as part of an independent assessment of the property, and anyone can participate in the auction, added the Chairman of the State Council.

In April 2022, deputies of the State Council of Crimea introduced a bill to the State Duma that makes it possible to forcibly confiscate the property of citizens from unfriendly countries. Amendments are proposed to be made to Part 1 of Art. 235 of the Civil Code (“grounds for termination of property rights”). However, the Presidential Council for Codification considered this project to be contrary to the Constitution and therefore did not support it. Despite this, in October deputies of the State Council of Crimea supported the changes.

In early February, it became known that the enterprises of Ukrainian businessmen Rinat Akhmetov and Igor Kolomoisky, ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Ukrainian deputy Nestor Shufrich, Lithuanian businessman Kolas Igoris and others were nationalized.
