The head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, called the attempted armed rebellion the most terrible crime that cannot be justified by any past merits. His statement is given in the telegram channel of the Russian Historical Society, which he heads.
According to him, the attempt to rock society and “awaken the darkest aspirations, kindle the fire of a fratricidal civil war” failed, the Russians showed their civic maturity.
“An attempt at armed rebellion, betrayal, undertaken behind the back of a fighting army, is the most terrible crime that cannot be justified by any past merit,” he said.
